
With more than thirty years experience, Terry has extensive knowledge of advancement and fundraising programs, systems, database management, prospect research, prospect tracking, operations, and management in operations and support. Terry has served as senior consultant with Marts & Lundy, a senior consultant, business architect and account manager with Computer Sciences Corporation and at Bentz Whaley Flessner as a principal of the firm and earlier as a managing and senior associate. Terry is currently an affiliated consultant with Marts and Lundy.
He brings a unique perspective to his clients, having worked in the commercial and public sectors where he led local, state, and national level information system projects. His clients have included a wide range of institutions such as Colleges and Universities, Health Care, Environmental and Arts organizations.
A graduate of the University of Oregon, Terry also holds a master’s degree from The Ohio State University. He received training in fundraising at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University, has chaired CASE’s “ePhilanthropy” conference, and presented at a number of national and regional fundraising conferences such as CASE, AFP, APRA and CSA and national software user-group conferences. Professionally he is active with AASP (Association of Advancement Services Professionals, IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) and CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education).
Terry and his wife Laura, a professional cellist, lived in Central America for five years, beginning with the Peace Corps in Costa Rica and then working in Mexico where they taught and performed. They reside again in Costa Rica. This time however they live in San Ramon de Alejuela, the home of presidents and poets. They are active in the Community Action Alliance that focuses on community needs and is made up of expats and Costa Ricans.
